Hotspotty Connect solves that problem by supporting onboarding of hotspots for all Makers that are part of the Maker Partnership Program. This streamlines the onboarding process for consumers having hotspots of multiple Makers and also brings a cost reduction to Makers with respect to the development and maintenance of their onboarding solution.
With the Maker Partnership Program we want to improve this experience significantly by integrating with Makers directly to get access to the hotspot data, and then surface this information to their customers via Hotspotty Web, Hotspotty Connect, and the Host Dashboard. We can also differentiate between public and private data, such that only users that have proven that they own a hotspot (wallet verification) will be able to access private data. It is up to the Maker to tell us what data should be private or public
Hotspotty is developing a Docker Container in collaboration with Balena to simplify the process of opting in to the Remote Hotspot Diagnostics for Makers who manage their fleet of devices using this service. It will be as simple as adding a new container to the hotspot which will effortlessly add the direct API access with basic device information to be displayed into the Hotspotty website. The container can potentially be used by any other Maker that uses docker for firmware updates.
